Laura Dampney is from Leicester and lives with her husband and two children. She rediscovered her childhood love for painting after her breast cancer diagnosis in 2018, when her children were aged 2 and 5. Initially, her painting was a form of escapism and respite from treatment, born from a desire to create works of art for her children, as well as make their home a happy and colourful place! Over time, Laura has developed a passion for creating artworks that inspire hope and joy. Her preferred medium is gouache, and since experiencing hair loss, women with flowers for hair are a recurring theme.
